Bowling Green, KY – Behind a red-hot performance at the plate, Johnboy Rittenhouse collected his second Mid-South Conference Player of the Week honor this season, conference officials announced Monday.
Rittenhouse helped lead No. 8 Cumberlands to a perfect 6-0 record with wins over Midway (Ky.), Kentucky State, and a series sweep of Cincinnati-Clermont (Ohio). The senior batted .526 on the week, going 10-for-19 while consistently producing at the plate.
He recorded two three-hit performances, highlighted by a standout game against Cincinnati-Clermont where he went 3-for-4 with five RBIs. Rittenhouse finished the week with six doubles, one home run, and 10 RBIs, while also drawing six walks and scoring eight runs. He posted an impressive .615 on-base percentage to cap off the week.
Rittenhouse and the rest of the Patriots will return to action Tuesday, April 14th against Midway at 3 p.m. ET at Doyle Buhl Stadium.
