Old Hickory, TN – The University of the Cumberlands women's golf team turned in a strong performance at the Music City Classic, finishing 5th out of 21 teams with a total score of +42.
The Patriots were led by a pair of consistent showings from Ainslee Cruce and Jasmine Points, who each finished tied for 26th with a three-round total of 227 (+11). Cruce opened with a 73 (+1) and added rounds of 78 (+6) and 76 (+4), recording six birdies. Points matched the total with rounds of 77 (+5), 75 (+3), and 75 (+3), tallying five birdies and an eagle during the tournament.
Ginevra Capo added a solid performance, finishing tied for 34th with a total score of 228 (+12). Capo improved each round, shooting 78 (+6), 76 (+4), and 74 (+2), while recording four birdies.
Atchariya Thanaudomkul tied for 32nd overall with a score of 229 (+13). After opening with an 80 (+8), she bounced back with a 73 (+1) in the second round and closed with a 76 (+4), finishing with six birdies.
McKenzie Trautman rounded out the lineup, finishing tied for 30th with a total of 230 (+14). Trautman posted rounds of 76 (+4), 79 (+7), and 75 (+3), collecting three birdies across the event.
Cumberlands finished as the top Mid-South Conference team in the field, edging out No. 17 Cumberland (Tenn.), who placed 6th (+46), and No. 16 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), who finished 7th (+47). Bethel (Tenn.) placed 18th (+107), Georgetown (Ky.) placed 19th (+108), and RV Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) finished 20th (+120).
The Patriots will return to action on April 27-28 where they will travel to compete at the Mid-South Conference Championship tournament in Bowling Green, KY.
