BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lea Kunstmann has been named the MSC Women's Track Athlete of the Week, conference officials announced Monday afternoon. The sophomore distance runner earned the honor following a strong performance against elite competition at the Wake Forest Invitational.
 
Kunstmann competed in the 5,000-meter run, where she placed sixth overall with a time of 17:11.87. The mark secured the NAIA B standard and currently ranks eighth in the NAIA this season, highlighting her position among the top distance runners in the country.
 
Her performance continues to build momentum for the Patriots' distance group as the outdoor season progresses.
 
This marks Kunstmann's first MSC weekly honor of the outdoor season. UC have now won six straight MSC Outdoor Track Athletes of the Week.
 
The Pats will return this weekend as they travel to Louisville, KY for their final meet before the MSC Outdoor Championships.
