Williamsburg, KY – After playing a pivotal role in Cumberlands capturing the 2026 AAC Tournament title, senior defender
Koral Hadac has been named the IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced Tuesday. It marks Hadac's third IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
The senior defender anchored Cumberlands backline with 12 caused turnovers and nine ground balls in two games. Hadac was also a pivotal part of the Patriots defense the limited their opponents to 4.00 goals per game during the tournament.
The Rosemount, MN native opened the week with a career-high seven caused turnovers to go along with eight ground balls in UC's win over (RV) Georgetown. The seven caused turnovers is tied for second in program history for CT's in a game. Hadac followed that up with five caused turnovers and a ground ball in the AAC finals against #4 Reinhardt. The senior was instrumental in limiting the Eagles to just one second half goal and their fewest goals in a game since February 10
th 2023.
Hadac leads the NAIA with 46 caused turnovers, while her 57 ground balls rank second in the country.
Cumberlands now sets their sights on the NAIA National Tournament, which is set to begin on Monday, May 11th. The NAIA selection show is set for May 4th at 5 p.m. (ET)
