Kansas City, MO – The University of the Cumberlands Baseball team wrapped up the 2026 campaign ranked 14th in the GoRout NAIA Baseball Top 25 Postseason Poll, announced by the national office Wednesday afternoon.
The Patriots finished the season with a 48-10 overall record and a 16-2 mark in Mid-South Conference play. Cumberlands captured its fourth consecutive MSC regular season championship and won the MSC Tournament title. UC spent the entirety of the season ranked among the top teams in the nation, reaching a season-high ranking of No. 5 in the final regular-season poll.
UC once again featured one of the most potent offenses in the NAIA, batting .345 as a team while totaling 669 hits, 636 runs scored, and 120 home runs on the year. The Patriots finished among the national leaders in both batting average and home runs while posting a .618 team slugging percentage.
Individually, the Patriots boasted one of the most productive lineups in the country. MSC Player of the Year, Derick Andiarena, paced the offense with a .402 batting average, 97 hits, 19 home runs, and 89 RBI. Ronald Almanzar added 25 home runs and 81 RBI while batting .381, while Johnboy Rittenhouse hit .392 with 16 home runs, 73 RBI, and 82 hits. Caden Petrey rounded out the heart of the order with 19 home runs and 72 RBI.
On the mound, the Patriots compiled a 4.60 ERA and struck out 521 batters across 458 innings pitched. Wesley Culley, the MSC Pitcher of the Year, led the rotation with a 9-2 record and 83 strikeouts, while Nolan Wilson matched him with nine victories and 65 strikeouts. Brayden Stewart finished the year 6-0 with 61 strikeouts, and Justin Cortez emerged as one of the top relievers on the staff, posting a perfect 5-0 record with five saves and 73 strikeouts.
National champion, Tennessee Wesleyan, finished atop the postseason poll, followed by Taylor (Ind.) and William Carey in the top three. Cumberlands was the only Mid-South Conference program represented in the postseason rankings.
