BOWLING GREEN, KY - For the second consecutive week, University of the Cumberlands kicker Khalil Arman has been named the Mid-South Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after helping the Patriots remain unbeaten with a 35-21 victory over Warner.
 
Arman continued his perfect start to the season, connecting on both of his field-goal attempts and all three extra points to account for nine points in the win. His performance helped Cumberlands improve to 3-0 on the season and 3-0 all-time against the Royals.
 
The kicker opened his afternoon late in the first quarter after UC drove 52 yards into Warner territory. With the Patriots facing fourth down at the Royals' 13-yard line, Arman connected on a 31-yard field goal to extend the Cumberlands advantage to 9-0.
 
Arman was called upon again on the opening possession of the second half. After a 10-play drive moved UC into Warner territory, he drilled a 44-yard field goal to push the Patriots' lead to 26-14. Arman also converted all three of his PAT attempts as Cumberlands finished with 35 points in the victory.
 
Through the last two games, Arman has connected on all five of his field-goal attempts, with four coming from 40 yards or longer. His current stretch includes makes from 45, 47 and 40 yards against Bluefield before adding kicks from 31 and 44 yards against Warner. The 47-yard field goal against the Rams tied the Cumberlands program record for the longest made field goal.
 
This marks Arman's second career MSC Special Teams Player of the Week honor after earning the award for the first time following UC's win over Bluefield.
 
Cumberlands returns to action Saturday, September 19th when the Patriots travel to Rio Grande, OH for the first-ever meeting with the University of Rio Grande. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 PM.
