Williamsburg, KY – After another successful week in Patriots athletics, tennis player Tessa Gray and faceoff specialist Kody Swann have been named the Domino's Athletes of the Week, announced by the athletic department Monday.

Gray earned women's athlete of the week honors after posting a 3-0 singles record and a 2-1 doubles record on the week. She began the week by teaming with Grace Steely for an 8-2 win against Midway in their first match at #1 doubles. She followed that up with a 6-1, 6-1 singles win. Gray clinched the Patriots win over 15^th-ranked Cumberland with a 6-4, 6-0 win in singles. The match was tied at 4-4 in the first set before Gray rattled off eight straight points for the win. She capped off her week by notching a pair of points in UC's win over Pikeville. After posting an 8-6 win at #1 doubles, Gray blanked Nagai to improve to 6-3 overall and 3-1 against the MSC.

Swann earned male player of the week honors after posting a 70.2% faceoff win percentage and helping the Patriots to a pair of wins.  He began the week by going 12-19 on faceoffs with six ground balls in UC's 13-5 win over Tennessee Wesleyan. Swann followed that up by winning 75% (21-28) of his faceoffs and setting a new single-game record for faceoff wins against Montreat. With the Patriots trailing 5-1 after the first quarter Swann won 15 of the next 16 faceoffs, including going 12 of 13 in the third quarter to spark the Patriot offense, which set a new program record for 11 goals in the quarter. The two wins also helped UC capture their first AAC regular season title in program history.
