Inside Lacrosse Article
Williamsburg, KY – University of the Cumberlands women's lacrosse All-American
Trinity Brown was one of five student-athletes featured in an Inside Lacrosse article "Pollard: 'How Four Black Women Found Their Way to Lacrosse'" released on Monday.
In the article, Brown discusses how she began playing lacrosse in high school and why she wanted to play lacrosse over other sports in college. The Fayetteville, GA native eventually found her way to Cumberlands in the Fall of 2018 and has been a part of the Patriots for the last two years.
Brown has made an instant impact for the UC earning numerous accolades including being named an NAIA First Team All-American, MSC First Team All-Conference selection, and to the NAIA All-Tournament team as a freshman. She recorded 49 ground balls, 21 caused turnovers, and 8 points in her freshman campaign to help the Patriots capture the inaugural Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament title. Brown followed that up by tallying a team-high 27 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers in her sophomore year, which was cut short due to CoVID-19.
The Patriots are coming off an 8-0 season after play was halted in March due. It marked the second time in the program's five-year history that they started the season with at least eight straight wins.
