Bowling Green, KY – Fresh off winning four medals and helping the Patriots capture their fourth consecutive USA Archery 3D National Championship, women's bowhunter shooter Madison Cox was named the Mid-South Conference Women's Archer of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Cox opened her week by winning the women's bowhunter division at USA 3D Nationals after carding a 458.  The junior tallied a second round 250 and hit 12 bonus rings to climb four spots to capture her third individual national title.  Cox finished with a two-round score of 456 and 17 12's on the weekend to break the program record by four points.  The McKee, KY native also made program history by becoming the first Patriot to reach the podium in each of her first six national championship appearances. 

Cox followed that up with a trio of silver medals to contribute a team-high 34 points to the overall standings.  She teamed with Brandon Durham to earn silver in the mixed bowhunter team as the duo combined for a total score of 860. 

Cumberlands' trio of Cox, Kaitlyn Shields, and Julia Shepherd earned the top-seed in the women's bowhunter team division.  The trio advanced to the finals before capturing a silver medal. 

Cox capped off her week earning silver in the mixed disciplinary round.  The trio of Cox, Jase Boils, and Jacob Valentini knocked off Texas A&M in the semifinals before finishing as the national runner-up.

Cumberlands tallied 174 to win the 3D national title by ten points.  Cox is now ranked second in program history with three gold medals and her six podium finishes also are second most in program history.

UC will now shift its focus to indoor season with the conference championship and regional championship slated to take place in January or February.
