Williamsburg, KY – After advancing to the NAIA final site for the second straight season, the Patriots women's soccer team has been named the Texas Roadhouse Team of the Month for November, announced by the athletic department Thursday.  The University of the Cumberlands Athletic Department in conjunction with their corporate partner Texas Roadhouse are presenting the "Texas Roadhouse Team of the Month", which will be award to one Patriot team each month.

The Patriots were dominant on the month going 5-2 on the month with all seven games coming in postseason play.  Cumberlands got hot at the right time earning four wins over ranked opponents to secure spots in both the NAIA National Tournament and the NAIA final site.  On the month the Patriots notched five shutouts, including four against ranked opponents.  After earning the sixth-seed in the MSC Tournament, UC rattled off three straight shutouts over Pikeville (8-0), #14 Campbellsville (3-0), and #11 Lindsey Wilson to advance to their third consecutive MSC tournament championship game and earn an automatic bid to nationals.

Cumberlands earned the #2 seed in the Siloam Springs Bracket and in their first match drew #22 Benedictine to a 0-0 draw.  However, the Patriots came up big during penalty kicks with goalie Laura Vogt making three stops, while getting goals from Jayden Boelter, Daniela Aguirre Garcia, and Alanna Skinner propel the Patriots into the championship match.  Facing #6 John Brown, Jillian Zurbog and Laura Navajas Marin netted goals as the Patriots defeated the Golden Eagles 2-0 to advance to the NAIA final site in back-to-back seasons.  UC earned the eight-seed at the final site, before falling to #9 Westmont 3-1. 

UC got the job done at both ends of the field on the month outscoring their opponents 14-4 with five shutouts.  Nine different Patriots scored on the month led by Jenna Rockwell with four goals, while Jayden Boelter added three goals and two assists. Laura Navajas Marin notched a goal and three assists, as Daniela Aguirre Garcia, Rylee Hardley, Selena Barnett, and Alba Lorca each finished with multiple assists on the month.  Vogt was a standout in goal with 22 saves and closes out the season with a 0.57 goals against average.

The Patriots finish the season with a program record 15 shutouts as part of their 16-6-2 record.  Cumberlands notched seven wins over ranked opponents, including two top-ten wins both of which are program records.
