Cleveland, TN – Men's track and field placed 14th of 35 teams at the Flames Invitational this weekend, finishing second among several NAIA teams competing. Ken Cobb posted a top-three finish against tough competition at the invite.
 
Cobb clocked 10.69 seconds down the straight in the 100 meters, recording a new career best. He was the second collegiate finisher to break the line, placing third overall. Cobb has improved in the event every time raced in it this season. On Friday, Cobb also recorded a personal best in the 200 meters, improving to 22.15 seconds.
 
Cobb also competed as the third led in the 4x100-meter relay, along with Matthew Chavers, Tadarien McIntosh and Keith Williams. The foursome recorded a new team best for the 2021 season of 43.38 seconds around the lap, placing sixth overall.
 
In the 110 hurdles, Leonardo Daley placed 12th with a wind-aided, 15.05-second finish. He sets it as a benchmark being the first time running the event in his career.
 
Tristan Petrey got back to pole vault for the first time since the outdoor season opener, clearing 4.33 meters on his third try. He placed 11th overall while matching the same height as eighth place. He missed out on clearing 4.70 meters, his current career best is 4.50 meters.
 
Miguel Reis clocked 50.07 seconds around the lap in the 400 meters, placing 14th overall. The time goes down as his outdoor career best by over a second.
 
Rounding out the Patriots with top-16 finishes, Jhawan Horton marked 42.15 meters in hammer throw. He tossed the mark on his first attempt on Friday.
