BOWLING GREEN, KY – For the fourth time this outdoor season,
Tavon Davis has been named the MSC Men's Track Athlete of the Week, conference officials announced Monday afternoon. The junior sprinter turned in another record-breaking performance at the Clark Wood Invitational, continuing his dominant outdoor campaign.
Davis headlined the meet with a victory in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 45.67. The mark hit the NAIA A standard, broke the Cumberlands program record, and currently stands as the fastest time in the NAIA this season.
He followed that performance by helping the Patriots' 4x400-meter relay team to a first-place finish. The squad of
Roy Miller,
Zion Pruitt,
Willy Mabena, and Davis clocked a 3:07.69, breaking the school record while also posting the top time in the NAIA this season.
Davis has now earned four out of seven weekly honors this season, and UC is seven for seven on MSC Track Athlete of the Week honorees.
Cumberlands will now look forward next weekend where they will compete in the 2026 Mid-South Conference Outdoor Championships. Events will begin on Sunday in Columbia, KY.
