KANSAS CITY, MO – Tavon Davis has been named the NAIA and USTFCCCA Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, national officials announced Wednesday afternoon. The junior standout earns the NAIA honor for the third time this outdoor season and fourth overall this year after another record-breaking performance at the Clark Wood Invitational.
Davis delivered a dominant showing in the 400-meter dash, winning the event in 45.67. The mark secured the NAIA A standard, broke the Cumberlands program record, and currently stands as the fastest time in the NAIA this season.
He also helped the Patriots' 4x400-meter relay team to a first-place finish, helping UC clock a 3:07.69. The time broke the school record and ranks as the top mark in the NAIA this year.
With this latest honor, Davis now owns the most NAIA weekly awards of any athlete in the nation this season, further cementing his position as one of the premier sprinters in collegiate track & field.
Tavon Davis and the Patriots will now look forward next weekend where they will compete in the 2026 Mid-South Conference Outdoor Championships. Events will begin on Sunday in Columbia, KY.
