Williamsburg, KY – A week after earning the PATS Award for the highest GPA on campus, the Patriots women's tennis team garnered both team and individual accolades from the ITA, announced Thursday. Cumberlands earned ITA All-Academic Team honors and were third in the NAIA with 9 NAIA ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Mikaela Fros,
Tessa Gray,
Laura Marie,
Satsuki Mitani,
Tomomi Nagao,
Catherine Rae,
Hana Shimeno, and
Lilli Vance.
The Patriots are coming off one of their most successful years in program history posting a 20-4 record en route to capturing their first Mid-South Conference regular season title in 20 years. It was the UC's second MSC conference title in program history and helped UC qualify for their fourth consecutive NAIA National Tournament. The Patriots advanced to the second round and closed out the year ranked 16
th.
In addition to shining on the court, the Patriots have continued to shine in the classroom leading the way with nine Mid-South Conference Academic All-Conference selections, while Nagao was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team last week. Nagao and Marie both notched top honors in the conference being named the Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectfully, while Beckmann, Fros, Mitani, and Shimeno all earned All-Conference recognition.
To be eligible for ITA All-Academic Team honors, teams must have at least a 3.2 GPA, while ITA Scholar-Athletes must have at least a 3.50 GPA for the current academic year. This year there were 39 teams and 273 student-athletes that earned this distinction.
