Williamsburg, KY – After they each posted strong performances on the week wrestler Chamira Cooper and forward Lamar Harris have been selected as the Pepsi Athletes of the Week, announced by the athletic department Monday.
 
Cooper was named the female athlete of the week after going 4-0 at the NWCA Duals on the weekend.  She was the lone unbeaten Patriot on the week as she tallied three tech falls and a forfeit win and outscored her opponents 31-0 on the weekend.  Cooper opened the tournament with a 10-0 tech fall win over Dennis Bailey of Southern Oregon, which was on of UC's two wins in the dual.  After scoring a forfeit win against Iowa Wesleyan advanced the Patriots to day two of the tournament, the Cerritos, CA native continued her domination.  Cooper posted an 11-0 tech fall win over fourth-ranked Elisa Robinson of Baker, before closing out the tournament with a 10-0 win over Indiana Tech's Grace Doering.  The sophomore is now 10-0 in dual matches this season and ranked tenth in the NAIA in the 170 lbs. weight class.
 
Harris earned the male athlete of the week honors after record 10.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks over the Patriots three games on the week.  Harris was instrumental in the Patriots collecting a pair of conference wins getting it done at both ends of the court.  The junior tallied 13 points, four rebounds, and four blocks in Cumberlands 73-63 win over Freed-Hardeman.  He followed that up with nine points, four rebounds, and three big time blocks against Bethel as UC improves to 12-5 on the season and 6-3 in conference play.   Harris closed out the week shooting 76.5% from the field and converted 4-6 from the charity stripe on the week.  For the season, Harris leads the MSC with 32 blocks and is averaging 2.0 blocks per game.
