Williamsburg, KY – After helping the Patriots capture the 2022 MSC Indoor Archery Championship and garnering three gold medals apiece, Lidia Quezada and Tyler Woosley have been selected as the Pepsi Athletes of the Week, announced by the athletic department Monday.

Quezada was named the female athlete of the week after earning capturing a trio of gold medals in the women's recurve division.   The freshman opened the tournament with the top qualifying mark at 535, hitting 23 ten's.  Quezada carded a 272 in round one, which was the best round by any women's recurve archer.  Quezada teamed with Jacob Valentini for a 6-0 win over Lindsey Wilson in the mixed recurve division for the first gold medal of the tournament.  In the head-to-head matches, the Tijuana, Baja, CA native posted consecutive 6-2 wins to reach the gold medal match, where she rallied for a 6-5 win over Ceridwyn Salyers to earn the spot atop the podium.  Quezada, Salyers, and Whitney Vandiver capped off the weekend with a gold in women's recurve team after a 6-0 win over the Blue Raiders.

Woosley earned the male athlete of the week honors after a dominating performance in men's barebow.  The Leitchfield, KY native posted the two best qualifying rounds on the weekend carding a 262 and a 241 to earn the top seed with a 503.  Woosley hit 12 ten's, which was more than double the next closest competitors, and earned the top-seed by 84 points.  The freshman continued his strong performance in the head-to-head matches as he went 3-0 to capture gold, outscoring his opponents 18-0 overall, including a 6-0 win over Jacob Cook of Lindsey Wilson in the gold medal match.  Woosley added a pair of gold medals during the team rounds  as he teamed with Katie Karr for a 5-1 win in mixed team and pair with Eilijah Crawford and Bradley Faulkner for men's barebow team medal.
