Bowling Green, KY – Carlos Muniz gets his first Mid-South Player of the Week honor after going 15-18 and hitting five home runs.

The Naranjito, PR native came to the Patriots by way of Southwestern Community College. Over the Week, Muniz went 15-18 at the plate for an average of .833, with two walks. Of the 15 hits, he hit five home runs and four doubles.  

Muniz had two of his five the home runs in game one against UC-Clermont, then he hit his third in game two. Then over the weekend he hit one home run on each day against Saint Francis.

He leads the team in home runs with five, RBIs with 16, and hits with 20.

Head Coach Brad Shelton said, "Charlie has had a great start to the season. His approach and toughness at the plate is excellent. His power numbers are really good, but he's put a premium on not striking out. That is what has been so impressive to me".

Cumberlands will hit the road heading south to take on Point University in West Point, GA for a four-game series starting Friday Feb 18 at 1pm.
