Bowling Green, KY – Coming off of a career performance, Patriots punter Harlin Brown has been named the Mid-South Conference Special Teams Player of the Weeks, the conference office announced Monday.  Brown becomes the first Patriot to earn conference honors this season and the third of Brown's career.

The Winder, GA native averaged 51.3 yard on four punts in the Patriots win over St. Andrews.  Brown flipped the field against the Knights with two booming punts that went over 50 yards and pinned the Knights inside of their 20-yard line twice.  The sophomore punted the ball three times in the second quarter, including a career-best 60-yarder, which was eventually downed at St. Andrews 18-yard line. 

Cumberlands defense took advantage of the favorable field position stopping the Knights offense, which eventually led to a pair of scores for UC.  On the season, Brown is averaging 44.75 yards per punt and has pinned the opposition inside their 20 four times.  The sophomore is currently leads the MSC and is third in the NAIA in punting average.

The Patriots are 2-0 on the season after the 44-6 win over St. Andrews.  It's the fourth time in the past five years that UC has opened the season 2-0.

UC returns to the field Saturday, September 23, as they open MSC play with the defending conference champions Lindsey Wilson.  Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. with live video of the game available here.
