Grand Rapids, MI – A handful of Patriots were in action on Friday, and they did not disappoint, breaking multiple program records and recording five NAIA A standards at both the GVSU Holliday Open and the Warrior Open at Indiana Tech.
In Indiana, a trio of racewalkers clocked A cuts and finished over a minute faster than the previous school record.
Lilian Bittencourt finished first with a 15:02.83 while
Alexa Governor and
Hannah Durrant finished second and third with times of 15:12.32 and 15:21.72.
Isabelle Blatz also raced, finishing with a new PR of 18:54.02.
At GVSU, a pair of Pats clocked A standards in the 5K.
Alina Boshchuk broke the school record with a 16:58.76 finish with
Heather Durrant finishing in 17:54.47 for an A standard as well.
Elizabeth Lucason finished her race in 18:12.48, just two seconds off the standard.
Cumberlands will take a break over the rest of December before returning to action January 19
th at the Bellarmine Open in Louisville, KY.
