A Trio of Pats Hit National Standard in the 3K at Lenny Lyles Invite

Louisville, KY – UC was back in action in Louisville for the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite. They competed in four different events and had a trio of women hit national standards in the 3000M run.
 
Elizabeth Lucason hit her second straight A standard in Louisville on Friday, this time in the 3K. After impressive performances in the mile and 1K last week, Lucason clocked a 10:11.57 finish as the fastest NAIA runner in the race. Elke Wijkmans and Heather Durrant also had national standard finishes in the 3K. Wijkmans clocked a 10:16.41 while Durrant finished in 10:18.18.
 
Savannah Hossfeld ran the 800m run for the Pats. She crossed the finish line in 2:21.91 for 26th out of 40 competitors.
 
Mya Hines was the lone Patriot in the pentathlon on Friday. She finished her day 14th overall with 3018 points. This broke the previous school record by just under 300 points.  Hines battled for top-ten finishes in the high jump and shot put. She cleared a height of 1.58m in the HJ while hitting a 9.87m mark in the SP.  
 
UC had a single thrower enter the circle today. Maggie Buerger competed in the weight throw, where she hit a mark of 12.66m for 23rd.

The Patriots will be back for day two of the Lenny Lyles Invite tomorrow, where a handful of atheltes will be competing.
