Raglin Breaks Program Record to Highlight Women's Day at Commonwealth Opener

Louisville, KY – UC's women competed in five events at the Commonwealth College Opener on Saturday afternoon including the 60m, 200m, and 400m along with the shot put and weight throw.
 
The top performance of the day came from MaQuoia Raglin who broke the program record in the 200m dash. The junior clocked a 25.17 finish for sixth place overall, etching her name in the record books. Allie Bryson ran a 26.48 200m time for 21st while A'Yana Gray and Kennedi Riascos crossed the finish in 26.78 and 27.39, respectively.
 
Raglin also led UC's finishers in the 60m dash, winning the prelims with a 7.75 time. She then ran a 7.80 for 12th in the semifinals while Bryson's 7.93 finish earned 18th. Riascos followed with a 8.39 finish of her own. Gray was the lone Patriot 400m runner on the day. The junior ran her two laps in 2:03.19 for ninth overall.
 
Maggie Buerger was the top thrower for Cumberlands in Louisville, placing seventh in the weight throw. Buerger hit a mark of 13.83m for seventh while Delaney Deaton and Taylor Lunsford posted throws of 11.52m and 11.43m for 16th and 18th. Deaton was the top UC finisher in the shot put with a 9.59m throw for 12th. Lunsford recorded an 8.99m mark for 15th while Hannah Baker placed 20th with a 7.45m toss.
 
This marks the final meet of 2024 for the Patriots. They will return to action in the new year on the 10th of January back in Louisville, KY for the Rod McCravy Memorial.
