Austin, TX – After an unforgettable season that saw the Patriots win their first NAIA National Title in program history, the University of the Cumberlands women's track & field team continues to collect national honors. Alina Boshchuk was named the College Sports Communicators (CSC) NAIA Women's Track & Field Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year, while Alexa Governor earned a spot on the Academic All-America First Team. The duo demonstrated outstanding dedication to both academic and athletic excellence, becoming the first pair in program history to earn these prestigious honors in the same season.

Boshchuk made history as the first Patriot in program history to earn CSC Academic All-America honors multiple times, and she becomes just the seventh student-athlete in UC Athletics history to be named a Team Member of the Year.

This season, Boshchuk added five more All-American honors to her name, bringing her career total to a program-best nine. She placed inside the top 20 at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships after breaking UC's 5K and 6K records earlier in the year. During indoor season, the Ukrainian standout earned All-American honors in the 5K (3rd place) and as a member of the DMR (5th place), with both performances breaking school records and contributing to the Patriots' national championship run. She capped off her year with two more All-American finishes outdoors—5th in the 10K and 7th in the 5K—again breaking school records in both events.

"This is a tremendous award for Alina to receive," said Head Coach Bradley Sowder. "It illustrates the highest discipline for her both academically and athletically."

Her academic resume was just as impressive, compiling a perfect 4.0 GPA in UC's Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, underscoring her commitment to excellence as a student-athlete.

Joining her among the elite was Alexa Governor, who was named to the Academic All-America First Team, her first such honor. A standout in the racewalk, Governor placed second in the 3K racewalk at Indoor Nationals, contributing eight critical points to help UC secure the team's first national title. She also claimed her first career Mid-South Conference title with a win in the same event.

In the classroom, Governor is an Elemantary Education major who posted a GPA above 3.9 for the year. She was also recognized as an NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Conference selection.

Governor joins Boshchuk as just the fourth Patriot in UC women's cross country/track & field history to earn Academic All-America status—and the pair are the first to be named First Team selections.
