Nashville, TN – UC's women were competing in two events on Saturday. The track athletes entered into events at the Music City Challenge while the field athletes made their way to Danville, KY for the Centre Indoor Invitational.
 
At the Music City Challenge, Alina Boshchuk continued her amazing weekend with another impressive performance in the 3K. She broke her own school record with a time of 9:56.13, a top-10 time in the nation, for 13^th place out of 67 runners. Heather Durrant also entered the 3K, running a 10:31.42.
 
The 400m and 800m races saw a pair of patriots miss out on national standards by less than a second. Abia Kante clocked a 58.58 400m time, just three hundredths of a second away from the B standard. Savannah Hossfeld clocked a 2:19.28 in the 800m, just half a second away from the national standard.
 
Trinity Sherrod led all finishers at Centre on Saturday with a first-place finish in the pole vault. The senior cleared a height of 3.15m for her gold medal. Amber Avery and Morgan Weatherspoon also entered this event, finishing with marks of 2.57m and 2.27m for fourth and sixth place finishes.
 
UC's throws squad saw Maggie Buerger as the top finisher. Se placed third in the weight throw with a 13.75m toss and seventh in the shot put with an 11.21m mark. Taylor Lunsford was a top-10 finisher in the shot after a 9.99m toss while Emma Hall placed ninth in the weight throw after finishing with a 12.25m throw.
 
Jaci Woods entered the long jump and placed fourth with a leap of 4.99m on her fourth attempt. The high jump saw Paige Newby finish seventh with a 1.45m mark while Makayla Clark rounded out UC's top-10 finishers in the triple jump with a 9.64m mark.
 
This marks the final regular season meet of the year for those that competed this weekend. The Millrose Games in New York City are scheduled for tomorrow, where Patriot racewalkers will be in action. The rest of the team sets their sights to Louisville, KY next Friday where the MSC Indoor Championships will be held.
