Boshchuk's Record Breaking Performance Highlights Women's Day in NC

Raleigh, NC – A Pair of Pats were in action at the 2024 Raleigh Relays on Friday afternoon. Abia Kante raced in the 400m dash while Alina Boshchuk ran under the lights in the 10K. Boshchuk etched her name in the record books, becoming the fastest 10K runner in program history.
 
The Ukrainian took off at the sound of the gun in the second heat of the 10K late Saturday night. She ran her 25 laps in 35:38.40, breaking Laurel Kachel's record by over two and a half minutes. The previous best was set 12 years ago in 2012. Boshchuk's time is the fastest in the NAIA this season by over a minute and clipped the national A standard as well.
 
Kante was the other Patriot on the track on the second day in Raleigh, running in the 400m. The freshman crossed the finish line in 58.44 for 56th out of 92 high-level runners.
 
The Patriots will round out their trip to North Carolina tomorrow on the final day of the 2024 Raliegh Relays.
