Pats Set Program Record with 15 All-Conference Selections

Bowling Green, KY – The Patriots eSports teams have had one of the most successful seasons in program history and tallied a program best 15 MSC All-Conference award winners for their performances this year. UC's 15 honroees are the most of any team in the Mid-South this year. 
 
Valorant
UC's Valorant squad featured a trio of all-conference players led by Isaiah Jarzab who earned a spot on the MSC First-Team. Devon Ridner and Tony Jiang also had a great impact on the success of this team, taking Second-Team All-Conference honors.
 
The trio helped UC come away with a runner-up finish in the Mid-South Conference playoffs. They breezed past Bethel in the quarterfinals with a 2-0 victory, then defeated Pikeville 2-1 to advance to the MSC Championship match. In the finals, UC took a map, but eventually fell in round three to place second overall.
 
Their season is not finished yet, as they are in the midst of a playoffs run in the NECC Valorant league. The team recently defeated Widener University in the round of 16 to earn a spot in the quarterfinals match against Cornell. The match is set for Monday, April 22nd at 8 PM ET and can be watched on the Patriots Twitch account here.
 
Overwatch
Cumberlands also had a successful season in Overwatch where three more Pats earned All-Conference honors. Jarzab once again claimed first-team honors, becoming the first ever Patriot to earn All-Conference honors in different games. Ryan Hillard and Liam McNamara both secured a Second-Team All-Conference spot for their dominance in OW as well.
 
UC also finished runner-up in Overwatch during the MSC playoffs. They rolled over Pikeville in the semis 3-0 to earn a spot in the finals. They then faced off against top-seeded Cumberland University who had the Pats number, winning 3-0 for the title.
 
Rocket League
UC garnered two All-Conference honorees in Rocket League. Jonthan Jackson found himself on the First-Team while Aedan Poore snagged Second-Team honors. The duo made an appearance in the MSC semifinals where they dropped to the Phoenix of Cumberland University, earning third overall.
 
Super Smash Bros
Andy Sears was named to the Super Smash Bros first-team while Joshua Stegman and Ben Skatzes snagged Second-Team honors. Both the JV and Varsity squads finished third in the Mid-South after falling to Campbellsville in the semifinal matchup.
 
League of Legends
The LOL team had the most All-Conference honorees with four members on the second-team. Isaiah Jarzab continued his historic season with a Mid-South Second-Team nod, his third All-Conference honors of the year. Cody Lawson earned this award for the second straight season, becoming the first patriot to earn All-Conference in back-to-back seasons. Jordan Horsley and Jonathan Walters rounded out UC's League of Legends players on the MSC Second-Team. The league squad also made it to the semifinal match in the MSC playoffs where they finished third overall.
 
The Mid-South Conference also announced the MSC Champion of Character honorees. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA. UC's honoree for this season was Andrew Farthing, who plays Super Smash Bros and is on the Patriots Swim & Dive team. This is the second straight year that Farthing has earned this honor.
