Cleveland, TN – The Patriots capped off their weekend at Lee University with an individual event winner, six top-10 finishes and an NAIA Qualifying standard. UC had runners in four events on the track and entered all three field events on Saturday.
 
Savannah Hossfeld came away with a national "B" cut in the 300m steeplechase on the final day of the Lee Fast Break Invitational. She clocked an 11:27.44 for fifth place in her steeplechase debut at Cumberlands. Elisa Helferich was UC's other finisher, crossing the finish line in 12:58.55 for 15^th.
 
The long jump featured a trio of Pats in the top-8 and saw UC's lone first-place finisher. Abia Kante leaped 5.56m in her first long jump of the year for the win. Mya Hines hit a best mark of 5.17m for fourth while Jaci Woods jumped 4.94m for eighth. Mikaela Shock rounded out the Patriots in the event with a 23^rd place, 4.17m performance. Hines also had a good showing in the 100m hurdles, placing sixth overall out of 19 competitors. The freshman hurdled her way to a 16.01 time.
 
Maggie Buerger continued the field athlete's success on Saturday, placing fourth in the discus throw. Her second attempt she launched the disc 37.94m for her best of the day. Buerger also entered the shot put, where she finished 15^th behind a 10.58m throw. Jaci Woods also entered the circle for the shot, hitting an 8.83m mark.
 
Four Pats ran the 800m at Lee University. Ashley Terry led the way with a 2:19.95 finish for 25^th while Ashlyn Liddle followed just behind her in 2:20.75, placing 27^th. Hannah Durrant clocked a 2:30.03 for 47^th right in front of Chloe West who ran a 2:32.13.
 
Amelia Richardson was the lone Patriot to enter the blocks for the 100m dash. She sprinted to a 13.31 finish for 23^rd overall.
 
Cumberlands will stay home next weekend as they host the Gordon Bocock Cumberlands Invitational and Distance Carnival.
