Williamsburg, KY – University of the Cumberlands Head Women's Basketball Coach
Rick Reeves has announced that
Krystal Evans has been elevated to Associate Head Coach. Coach Evans is entering her fifth season on the staff has been an integral part of the Patriots success over the previous four seasons.
"Krystal is heavily involved with every facet of our offense, defense, scouting, and recruiting philosophy and everyone in the program feels so blessed to have her on staff," said Coach Reeves.
Evans joined the Patriots coaching staff during the 2020-21 season and has helped guide UC to 84-37 overall record, including a 47-23 mark in conference play. UC has won 20+ games in each of the past three years and has qualified for the NAIA National Tournament for four consecutive seasons.
Cumberlands set a program record during the 2022-23 season when notched 16 conference wins, which was the most conference wins in program history. Cumberlands recorded a 26-10 record last season to earn a host berth for the First and Second Round of the NAIA Tournament, before winning the Duer Quadrant and advancing to the Fab Four for the first time.
Coach Evans has been key member of the coaching staff that has seen five players garner MSC First Team All-Conference accolades and has had 11 MSC All-Conference selections. In addition, she has played a major part in recruiting, securing key players that helped the Pats elevate to the next level. These honorees include
Kassie Monday, who is and two-time NAIA All-American, and Silvia Veloso, who earned the MSC Defensive Player of the Year.
UC will open their 2024-25 campaign on Friday, October 25, when they host Calvary with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
