Bowling Green, KY – The #10 Cumberlands Volleyball team continues to excel both on the court and in the classroom, earning 22 Mid-South Conference Academic All-Conference selections, the league office announced Monday. The Patriots once again led the MSC in academic honors, showcasing the program's commitment to excellence in every area.
Senior
Maddi Underwood led the way for UC, earning Academic All-Conference honors for the third time in her career. Eleven Patriots repeated on the list from last season, including
Aleksandra Augustyniak,
Jayce Braden,
Rylie Depue,
Jori Dowling, Alana Farrell, Emily Hendrickson,
Kara Gipson,
Rayne Manning,
Allison Moneypenny,
Kendall Yarber, and
Sara Zampedri.
Cumberlands also had 11 student-athletes earn the award for the first time:
Davey Slaughter,
Faith Franklin,
Alana Shiery,
Ryann Livingston, Nelia Cuentas, Isabella King, Kylee Brown, Morgan Purvis, Emily Rainwater, Lilly Sharp, and
Brynnley Bryant.
To be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and be in their third term or fourth quarter.
The Patriots will return to action Friday, November 14
th, when they face the winner of #4 seed Cumberland University and #5 seed Bethel (Tenn.) in the semifinals of the MSC Tournament in Bowling Green, KY. First serve is set for 4 p.m. ET.
