St. Louis, MO – The Patriots cheerleading team competed in their second competition of the season on Saturday afternoon. UC placed second out of nine teams in one round of competition. 

First-year assistant coach Phebe McHargue said, "I am very proud of how this team competed today. They have put so much work into this routine and will continue to work hard for the rest of the season".  

The Cumberlands earned a score of 90.3, while Missouri Valley secured first place with a score of 91.1. Taylor University rounded out the top three with a score of 89.2.  

"We learned a valuable lesson today, but we were able to have some success. Now, we need to bounce back and get ready to compete at Campbellsville" said Head Coach R.J. Conroy. 

This marks the second time this season that UC scored over a 90.0, and the Patriots have a season average of 90.81, which ranks third in the NAIA. 

UC is back in action on February 15th, as they head to Campbellsville, Kentucky to compete at Campbellsville University.
