Hines Posts Top-Five Heptathlon Mark to Highlight the Day for UC

Anderson, SC – UC's women completed their weekend at a trio of meets. A pair of heptathletes rounded out their time at the Electric City Invite while the remaining Patriots competed at Tennessee and Centre College.
 
Mya Hines finished runner-up in the heptathlon after scoring 4605 points. This is the fourth highest mark in the NAIA so far this season. Jaci Woods also competed in the heptathlon, scoring 3590 points for sixth.
 
In Tennessee, Lillian Guzman posted a ninth-place finish in the 400m behind a 57.82 finish. The 100m dash saw Kennedi Riascos run a 12.81 for 40th to round out UC's sprinters at UT. The 800m run featured Elisa Helferich, Julie Meiner-Duedahl, and Megan Kitchens who ran times of 2:25.14, 2:25.73, and 2:27.48.
 
Elizabeth Lucason ran in the 3K steeplechase for the first time this outdoor season, placing eighth in 11:53.31 as the final Patriot competitor in Knoxville.
 
At Centre, Chloe West started UC's day on the track with a seventh-place finish in the 1500m behind a 5:04.64 finish. West also ran the 800m, clocking a 2:28.53 as the only Patriot finisher in the top-10. Anslee Crosby was the lone Pat in the 5K, running a 19:30.11 for fourth.
 
In the throws, Maggie Buerger picked up a pair of wins in the hammer and discus throws. She finished with a 39.19m best in the discus and a 43.85m throw in the hammer. Delaney Deaton and Hannah Baker also posted top-10 finishes in the hammer with marks of 34.46m and 25.52m for fourth and ninth. Deaton finish third in the discus with a 32.85m best as well.
 
Makayla Clark cleared a height of 1.50m in the high jump for fourth to begin the day for the Patriots jumpers. Mikaela Shock rounded out the day in the pole vault with a 2.47m mark on her third and final attempt to finish sixth.
 
The Pats will return to the track next weekend as they host their third and final home meet of the season.
