Kansas City, MO – The Cumberlands women's lacrosse team closed out the 2025 season with a strong postseason run as they advanced to the NAIA championship game for the second time in program history. The Patriots success this season led to six UC players garnering NAIA All-American accolades, which is the most any school this season.
Ashlee Baker,
Koral Hadac, and
Emma Rittman earned NAIA First Team All-American honors, while
Marisa Helsten,
Anna Lobbezoo, and
Reese Kincaid earned Second Team All-American distinction.
Baker garners All-American honors for the second straight year, earning First Team Honors this year. The sophomore led the team with 49 assists and 101 points on the year ranking fourth in the NAIA for assists and sixth for points. Baker also became the fifth Patriot player to go over the century mark for points in a season. The Las Vegas, NV native set a career-high for points in back-to-back wins over Georgetown and Montreat, while closing out the season with ten straight multi-assist games. Baker was third on the team with 27 caused turnovers.
For the third straight year, Hadac garnered NAIA First Team honors. The Rosemount, MN native lead the NAIA with 54 caused turnovers and 78 ground balls this season, while also breaking the program record for caused turnovers in a season. Hadac was an instrumental part of the Patriots defense as she notched multiple caused turnovers in 14 games with a season-high five caused turnovers in the win over Indiana Tech. Additionally, Hadac scooped 98 draw controls on the season, including a career-high 13 in a win over Georgetown. Hadac also netted the game-winning goal in the National Semifinal win over Keiser. She was named to the AAC All-Tournament Team and the NAIA All-Tournament Team this season.
Rittman also garnered NAIA First Team honors for the third straight year. The Pickerington, OH native posted another strong season, tallying 49 goals, 63 points, 171 draw controls, 76 ground balls, and 45 caused turnovers. Rittman ranked second in program history for draw controls in a season and was second in the NAIA for draw controls and ground balls. The junior notched 14 multi-goal games this season, including six in the national semifinal win over Keiser. Rittman also scooped a season-high 15 draw controls in win over Indiana Tech. Rittman was a key part of the Patriots draw control unit that ranked second in the NAIA, while being a vital part of Cumberlands clear defense that held opponents to a 59.2% clear rate.
For the second straight year, Helsten garnered NAIA Second Team honors. The senior notched 49 goals, 17 assists, and 65 points as part of Cumberlands attack. Helsten notched multiple goals in 13 games this season, including a season-high five goals in the win over Georgetown. The Caledonia, MI native recorded four goals and an assist while netting the game-winning goal in overtime of the AAC Championship game against Reinhardt. Helsten is a two-time AAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Lobbezoo collected her second NAIA All-American accolade after tallying a team-best 59 goals to go along with 75 points and 53 draw controls. The junior had a strong impact on both ends of the fields as she scored a season-high six goals in the NAIA Championship game against Benedictine. The Jenison, MI native scooped a career-high 11 draw controls in the win over (RV) Ottawa. Lobbezoo is a key part of the Patriots draw control unit that collected 376 draw controls on the season. She was named AAC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season.
After being a vital part of the Patriots defense, Kincaid garners her first All-American accolade. The junior notched a career-high 36 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers on the season. Kincaid tallied multiple caused turnovers in eight games, including a season-high four in the win over Truett McConnell. She was a key part of the Patriots defense that limited opponents to a 59.2% clear rate and posted a shutout against (RV) St. Thomas.
Cumberlands closed out the season with a 17-4 record and captured the AAC Tournament title for the first time since 2019. The Patriots knocked off #5 Reinhardt and top-seed Keiser in the NAIA Tournament to become the first team sport to reach the NAIA Championship Game multiple times.
