Austin, TX – The Cumberlands women's lacrosse team produced an incredible season that included capturing the AAC Tournament Championship and making a run to reach the NAIA championship game. Their success on and off the field led to four UC players being named CSC At-Large Academic All-America®, it was announced Tuesday.
Koral Hadac garnered First Team honors for the second consecutive season, while
Ashlee Baker,
Anna Lobbezoo, and
Emma Rittman were Second Team honorees. This marks a program record of honorees for the women's lacrosse team as Hadac and Rittman become the third and fourth players, respectfully, to earn this distinction multiple times.
Hadac's success on the field coupled with her strong academics earned her CSC First Team honors for the second consecutive season. The junior lead the NAIA with 54 caused turnovers and 78 ground balls this season, while also breaking the program record for caused turnovers in a season. Hadac was an instrumental part of the Patriots defense as she notched multiple caused turnovers in 14 games with a season-high five caused turnovers in the win over Indiana Tech. Additionally, Hadac scooped 98 draw controls on the season, including a career-high 13 in a win over Georgetown. While playing primarily defense, Hadac came up huge in the NAIA Tournament when she netted the game-winning goal against top-ranked Keiser to help the Patriots advance to the championship game. The Rosemount, MN native is a three-time NAIA All-American, the 2024 AAC Defensive Player of the Year, and she earned AAC All-Tournament Team and the NAIA All-Tournament Team this season.
For the second straight year, Rittman captured CSC Second Team All-America honor. The junior is coming off another strong season, tallying 49 goals, 63 points, 171 draw controls, 76 ground balls, and 45 caused turnovers that helped her earn NAIA First Team All-American honors. Rittman ranks second in the NAIA for draw controls and ground balls. The junior notched 14 multi-goal games this season, including six in the national semifinal win over Keiser. Rittman also scooped a season-high 15 draw controls in win over Indiana Tech. Rittman was a key part of the Patriots draw control unit that ranked second in the NAIA, while being a vital part of Cumberlands clear defense that held opponents to a 59.2% clear rate. The Pickerington, OH native is a three-time NAIA All-American, the 2024 AAC Player of the Year, and 13x AAC Player of the Week. Rittman is the NAIA career leader in draw controls, while holding the program record for ground balls.
Baker garners All-America honors on the heels of breakout sophomore season. The Las Vegas, NV native led the team with 49 assists and 101 points on the year to be named a NAIA First Team All-American. Baker ranked fourth in the NAIA for assists and sixth for points, while becoming just the fifth Patriot player to go over the century mark for points in a season. The Las Vegas, NV native set a career-high for points in back-to-back wins over Georgetown and Montreat, while closing out the season with ten straight multi-assist games. Baker was third on the team with 27 caused turnovers and is ranked 10
th in program history with 54 career caused turnovers.
Lobbezoo collected her first CSC Academic All-America selection earning second team honors. The junior had another incredible season in which she netted a team-best 59 goals to go along with 75 points and 53 draw controls. The Jenison, MI native had a strong impact on both ends of the fields as she scored a season-high six goals in the NAIA Championship game against Benedictine. Lobbezoo scooped a career-high 11 draw controls in the win over (RV) Ottawa and has been a key part of the Patriots draw control unit that collected 376 draw controls on the season. The junior has been a vital part of the Pats draw control that has ranked in top two of the NAIA in each of the past three seasons. She was the 2024 AAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year, a 2x NAIA Second Team All-American, and was named to the NAIA All-Tournament Team this season.
UC compiled a 17-4 record and captured the AAC Tournament title, which was their third tournament title in program history. The Patriots defeated #5 Reinhardt before knocking off top-seed Keiser in the NAIA Tournament to become the first team sport, in Cumberlands history, to reach the NAIA Championship Game multiple times.
The 2024-25 Academic All-America® At-Large Teams, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. This year 20 student-athletes were named to the CSC, including 10 first team honorees that combined for a 3.89 cumulative GPA.
The At-Large category consist of student-athletes across a variety of sports including women's beach volleyball, men's & women's bowling, cheerleading, dance, men's & women's golf, men's & women's lacrosse, men's volleyball, and men's and women's wrestling. Each school can nominate up to six men and six women in this category.
