UC Women’s Lacrosse Garnered Multiple IWLCA Academic Honors

Northborough, MA – Coming off an incredible season on the field in which they captured the AAC Tournament title and reached the NAIA National Championship game, the Cumberlands women's lacrosse team garnered IWLCA Academic Honors, it was announced Wednesday.  The Patriots were named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad, while 12 players were named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.

UC was one of nine NAIA women's lacrosse programs to be named an Academic Honor Squad.  The IWLCA recognized 383 schools across all divisions with this honor.  To be eligible teams have a 3.2 GPA or higher for the academic year.

The Patriots led the NAIA Academic Honor Roll with 12 honorees, while across the NAIA 66 student-athletes from 12 institutions earned this award.  To be eligible, each person must be at least a junior with a minimum GPA of 3.50.

Florence Andrieu, Aleyah Belton, Mia Bosah, Koral Hadac, Marisa Helsten, Reese Kincaid, Tess Lisy, Anna Lobbezoo, Emma Rittman, Madison Rupp, Morgan Tate, and Jenna Veech earned this distinction for Cumberlands.

The Patriots went 17-4 last season en route to winning the AAC Tournament title with an 11-10 win over Reinhardt.  UC defeated the Eagles again before knocking off top-seed Keiser to become the first team in Cumberlands history reach the NAIA Championship game twice.
