Kingsport, TN – After a standout performance in pair of games against NAIA top-5 opponent, Patriots goalie
Mikayla Kimsey was named the AAC Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. It marks her second weekly honor of her Patriot career.
Kimsey notched 25 saves and a .543 save percentage on the week. She opened the week with 12 saves, including seven in the first quarter against top-ranked Benedictine. The sophomore followed it up with 12 saves, and .706 save %, as the Patriots earned an 18-5 win over fifth-ranked Life.
The Jacksonville, Fl native has posted a .590 save percentage on the season to go along with 72 saves. She has also anchored Cumberlands defense that has limited opponents to 5.0 goals per game.
Cumberlands returns to the field Friday, March 20
th, when they travel to Savannah, GA to face #3 SCAD. First draw is set for 11 a.m.
