RALEIGH, N.C. – The University of the Cumberlands men's track & field team opened competition Thursday at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State, beginning the meet with the 1500-meter run.
 
Ishak Mekideche led the Patriots with a strong performance, clocking a time of 3:50.14 to hit the NAIA B standard in the event.
 
Ryan Ehrler also turned in a solid effort, finishing in 3:51.59, narrowly missing the NAIA standard by less than a second.
 
Cumberlands will continue competition throughout the weekend at one of the nation's premier meets as the Patriots look to build on their early outdoor season success.
