BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Ishak Mekideche has been named the MSC Men's Track Athlete of the Week, conference officials announced Monday afternoon. The sophomore mid-distance runner earned the honor following a standout performance at the Wake Forest Invitational.
 
Mekideche claimed the title in the 1,500-meter run (Open 4), crossing the finish line in 3:47.88. The mark secured the NAIA A standard and currently ranks sixth in the NAIA this season, placing him among the top performers nationally.
 
His victory highlights a strong showing against a competitive field and continues to build momentum for the Patriots' mid-distance group.
 
This marks Mekideche's first MSC weekly honor of the outdoor season.
 
The Pats will return this weekend as they travel to Louisville, KY for their final meet before the MSC Outdoor Championships.
