Kingsport, TN – For the fifth time this season, the Patriots women's lacrosse team has swept the AAC Player of the Week honors, conference officials announced Monday.  After capturing the AAC regular season title, Allison Joines was named the AAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Ashlee Baker garnered AAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
 
Joines notched her first career AAC Offensive Player of the Week honor after netting a career-high six goals and seven points in UC's win over (RV) Georgetown.  The freshman tallied four goals and five points in the first half as Cumberlands jumped out to an early lead.  Joines added two of the first three goals in the second quarter for a new career-high.  The freshman has now tallied 35 goals, 18 assists, and 53 points on the season. 
 
Baker notched her fourth weekly honor and first career AAC Defensive Player of the Week award.  The Las Vegas, NV scooped a season-high five ground balls and three caused turnovers in the win over the Tigers.  Baker also notched seven points, including five assists in the win as she is now tied for second in program history with 60 assists this season.  Baker was part of UC's clear defense that limited Georgetown 6-15 on clears in the game.  The junior has now recorded 22 caused turnovers and 35 ground balls on the season.
 
The Patriots will now set their sights on the AAC Tournament.  Cumberlands will earn a first-round bye and face the winner of the 4-5 game in the semifinals on Friday, April 24 at 11 a.m. in Waleska, GA.
