Kansas City, MO – The University of the Cumberlands men's golf team climbed one spot in the latest NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top 25 Poll, moving from No. 19 to No. 18 with 216 points following a strong performance at the Patriot Invitational. 

The Patriots' rise in the rankings comes after capturing the team title at the Patriot Invitational, where Cumberlands finished even-par across three rounds to claim first place in a 10-team field. The Patriots also saw their B team deliver an impressive showing, finishing second overall in the tournament. 

Leading the way for Cumberlands was Eli Fischer, who claimed the individual championship with a three-round total of 212 (-4). Fischer opened the event with a stellar 68 (-4) before adding rounds of 72 (E) and 72 (E) to secure the title while recording 11 birdies across the tournament. 

Close behind was Alexei Butchart, who finished second overall with a total score of 214 (-2). Butchart carded rounds of 73 (+1), 69 (-3), and 72 (E), tallying nine birdies and an eagle during the event. 

Pedro Morgado also turned in a strong performance, finishing tied for third with a three-round total of 216 (E). Morgado posted rounds of 70 (-2), 70 (-2), and 76 (+4) while leading the Patriots with 11 birdies. 

Theo Andersson finished tied for 13th with a score of 222 (+6) after rounds of 74 (+2), 70 (-2), and 78 (+6), recording eight birdies. Pablo Lopez Martin rounded out the A team lineup with a 16th-place finish at 224 (+8), highlighted by eight birdies over three rounds. 

In addition to the Patriots' rise in the poll, two other teams from the Mid-South Conference appeared in the rankings. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) sits at No. 14, while Cumberland (Tenn.) is receiving votes. 

The Patriots will return to action on April 13-14 where they will travel to compete at the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tennessee.
