2005/2006: Attended Paul Blazer High School and was a member of the baseball team. Was named to the All-Area Team and was selected for the East-West All-Star Game.

2006/2007: Attended University of the Cumberlands and was a member of the varsity baseball team. On the season he had a 4-0 record with a 2.81 ERA in 32.1 innings pitched with 15 strikeouts and opponents hit .235 against him. He played in 7 games with 5 starts including 1 complete game and 1 shutout.

2007/2008: During the season he had a 6-1 record with a 3.48 ERA in 72.1 innings of work with 54 strikeouts and opponents hit .239 against him. He appeared in 14 games with 9 starts including 5 complete games and 2 shutouts. He was named All Mid-South Conference Honorable Mention and was awarded the Rawlings Gold Glove Award as a pitcher for Region XI. Was Honored as MSC Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 10^th.

2008/2009: On the season he had a 5-3 record with a 6.06 ERA in 52 innings of work with 26 strikeouts. He appeared in 10 games starting 9 and threw 2 complete games. He was named All Mid-South Conference Honorable Mention.

2009/2010: Had to redshirt to recover from a tear in right shoulder.
