Bowling Green, KY- The #18 ranked Patriots women's soccer team captured Mid-South Conference weekly honors for the first time since September. Two shutouts performances in the goal from Laura Vogt garnered her Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Week, announced by conference officials on Monday.

On the week, Vogt tallied four saves and zero goals against to help her earn the weekly honors.

In the opening match of the Mid-South Conference tournament on Monday, Vogt tallied her first shutout of the week. While her minutes were limited against Pikeville, Vogt used great communication and leadership to control her defense and keep the Bears from tallying a shot while she was in the match.

Vogt's performance in the cage against the 14^th ranked Tigers helped her to tally her second shutout of the week. In the 16^th minute of the match Campbellsville set up for a free kick just outside the goalie box. On the kick, Vogt made a great stop going to her left to keep the Tigers off the board. In the 32^nd minute of the match, Campbellsville set up for another free kick and looked to head in the into the goal off the kick. Vogt came up and dove to catch the header before it crossed the goal line to keep the Tigers scoreless. Vogt's performance led to the Tigers being shutout for only the second time this season.

This is the first time this season that Vogt has garnered the weekly honors and the fifth time in her career.

Cumberlands is set to compete in the semifinals of the MSC tournament on Wednesday against Lindsey Wilson. Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM EST in Bowling Green, KY at Warren Central High School. Live streaming of the match can be found here.
