Williamsburg, KY – The Patriots celebrated their senior class and put together multiple strong finishes t finish their weekend. UC picked up five wins on the final day of the Gordon Bocock UC Invitational in Williamsburg on Saturday.
 
The first race of the day for UC was the 100m dash where Abia Kante clocked a 12.07 to take the win. A'Yana Gray followed with a 12.80 for second while Kennedi Riascos ran a 13 flat for fifth.
 
UC picked up their second win on the track in the 400m hurdles. Elizabeth Lucason ran this race for the first time as a Patriot and crossed the finish line in 1:09.57 for the win.
 
The Pats finished their day on the track with a win in the 4x400. Megan Kitchens and Julie Meiner-Duedahl ran two of the legs before Lucy Sullivan and Elisa Helferich finished the final 800m for a combined finish of 4:20.54. Kitchens, Duedahl, and Helferich also ran the 800m, placing second, third, and fourth with times of 2:20.43, 2:22.52, and 2:23.67. Jasmin Ponce ran a 2:29.96 for ninth with Lucy Sullivan following just behind her in 2:30.29 to round out the top-10.
 
Jaci Woods picked up the Pats first win in a field event on Saturday, winning the triple jump. Woods leaped 10.94m for the victory.
 
The high jump saw UC's final field event winner of the day as Makayla Clark cleared the bar at 1.55m for the win.
 
Four Pats finished in the top-10 in the shot put led by Mya Hines who finished with a 10.50m best. Maggie Buerger followed with a 10.11m throw for third while Taylor Lunsford and Delaney Deaton placed seventh and eighth.
 
Buerger and Lunsford went two, three in the hammer throw with marks of 40.21m and 37.36m. Deaton followed with a fifth-place mark of 35.60m while Hannah Baker rounded out the top-seven finishers with a 27.93m toss.
 
Cumberlands will be back in action next week as they will travel to Wake Forrest and Georgia Tech for a pair of highly competitive meets.
