Women Post Strong Performances at Wake Forest and Georgia Tech

Winston-Salem, NC – A trio of Patriots were in action on Friday across two meets. Viola Jepleting was the lone distance runner to race at Wake Forest while Abia Kante and Lillian Guzman competed at Georgia Tech.
 
Jepleting ran in the 1500m, clocking the second fastest time in program history in 4:34.69. This time hit the NAIA B standard and is a top-10 time in the NAIA this season.
 
Kante entered the long jump at Georgia Tech and came away with a sixth-place finish. The sophomore leaped 5.80m on her third attempt for another national standard.
 
The final Patriot in action in Atlanta was Guzman, who entered the blocks for the 100m dash. Guzman sprinted to a 12.22 finish for 49th overall.
 
Cumberlands will be back tomorrow for the final day of the Georgia Tech Invitational. The first event of the day is the 4x100 scheduled for 11 AM. For live results, click here.
