UC's Women Have Strong Weekend at Louisville Open

Louisville, KY – The Patriots women completed the regular season at the UofL Freeman/Wood Open this weekend where they posted multiple NAIA national standards and a new 4x100 program record.
 
 The 4x100 relay clocked a 46.57 for a top-seven time in the nation this season. Lillian Guzman, Abia Kante, Allie Bryson, and MaQuoia Raglin combined for the historic finish. Kante and Bryson also ran in the 100m, clocking times of 11.89 and 12.38. Kante's 11.89 broke the school record and missed the B standard by just one hundredth of a second. Raglin and Bryson also ran the 200m, crossing the finish line in 25.33 and 26.44.
 
Elke Wijkmans recorded the Pats second standard of the weekend in the 5k. The senior won the event with a 17:19.47 for a B standard. Chloe West and Anslee Crosby also ran in the 500m run with times of 18:58.93 and 19:34.28.
 
The 100m hurdles featured Mya Hines as the lone Patriot competitor. She ran a 14.75 for 27th overall. In the 400m, A'Yana Gray clocked a 1:01.51 for 52nd.
 
Julie Meiner-Duedahl was the top UC finisher in the 800m, crossing the finish line in 2:20.57. Megan Kitchens followed just behind her in 2:21.09 while Elisa Helferich and Jasmin Ponce ran times of 2:24.21 and 2:30.12. Lucy Sullivan rounded out the Patriots in the 800m with a 2:34.43.
 
The 1500m saw Viola Jepleting run a 4:38.71 for 11th overall while Meiner-Duedahl crossed the finish line in 4:44.27. In the 3K steeplechase, Tarikua Majocchi finished 13th with an 11:51.10 mark.
 
Makayla Clark rounded out UC's competitors in Louisville with a 1.45m high jump. Her mark placed 12th overall.
 
This was the final meet of the regular season for the Pats as they will now look ahead to the MSC Championships hosted at UC's home track. The meet will be next weekend on Sunday and Monday the 4th and 5th.
