Bowling Green, KY – After a dominant week at the plate,
Derick Andiarena has been named the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
Andiarena helped power No. 6 Cumberlands to a 4-1 record on the week, batting .636 (14-for-22) across five games. He tallied five extra-base hits and recorded a multi-hit performance in each contest.
The senior slugger finished the week with two doubles and three home runs while driving in 17 RBIs and scoring 10 runs.
On the season, Andiarena is hitting .423 with 44 hits, including 12 doubles, a triple, and nine home runs while driving in 39 RBIs for the Patriots. His offensive production helped Cumberlands split a midweek two-game set with RV Milligan before sweeping a weekend series against Cumberland.
The honor marks Andiarena's first Mid-South Conference weekly award of the season and the third of his career.
