Kansas City, MO – UC outfielder Derick Andiarena has been named the NAIA Player of the Week, as announced by officials on Tuesday afternoon. This marks the second time in his career that Andiarena has earned NAIA Player of the Week honors.
The Anasco, Puerto Rico native started in all five games last week and helped lead the Patriots to a 4-1 record. Andiarena batted .636 (14-for-22) with three home runs, two doubles, and 17 RBIs while scoring 10 runs. He also recorded a multi-hit performance in each contest.
Additionally, Andiarena posted a 1.333 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage during the week, powering the Patriots' offense in both midweek and conference action.
On the season, the senior is hitting .423 with 44 hits, including 12 doubles, one triple, and nine home runs, while driving in 39 RBIs and scoring 34 runs.
Andiarena becomes the first Patriot this season to earn NAIA weekly honors.
#6 Cumberlands will return to conference action on Friday March 20th to take on Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY, with first pitch set for 3 p.m. ET.
