Kansas City, MO – Cumberlands baseball remained sixth in the second regular-season edition of the 2026 GoRout NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, national officials announced Wednesday morning. The Patriots continue to build on a strong start to the season with a 19-5 overall record, posting a 6-2 record since the last poll.
During that stretch, UC won two of three games against the University of Northwestern Ohio, split a midweek doubleheader with (RV) Milligan, and opened Mid-South Conference play with a three-game sweep over Cumberland University at Doyle Buhl Stadium.
The Patriots offense continues to be one of the most dangerous in the NAIA, ranking fifth nationally in team batting average and third in home runs with 50. UC has consistently produced at the plate, combining power and efficiency to remain among the top offensive teams in the country.
Ronald Almanzar has led the power surge for Cumberlands, sitting tied for third nationally with 11 home runs on the season. He continues to be a key piece in the Patriots lineup, helping drive one of the most productive offenses in the NAIA.
On the mound, the Patriots have relied on a balanced pitching staff led by Nolan Wilson and Wesley Culley. Wilson has been strong in his starts, posting a perfect 3-0 record. Culley has also been a key contributor in the rotation, tallying multiple wins and ranking among the team leaders in strikeouts. Stuart Tharle has been one of the most effective arms for UC, boasting a 4-0 record with a 2.96 ERA, while Jaden Morris has provided a spark out of the bullpen with a perfect record and strong strikeout numbers.
LSU Shreveport remains atop the poll, followed by Georgia Gwinnett and Taylor (Ind.) to round out the top three. Freed-Hardeman is the only other Mid-South Conference team represented in the poll and is receiving votes.
The Patriots will look to continue their strong play this weekend as they return to action in conference competition at Georgetown College on Friday March 20th.
