Ahmad Rashad Broadnax was born the son of Carolyn and Barry Broadnax in 1974. Raised by Barry, Carolyn and step mother Dr. Jannie Broadnax, Ahmad was graduated from Newton County High school in Covington, GA while lettering in football, basketball and track. Ahmad received several team, county and region athletic accolades.
Broadnax amassed a stellar collegiate career at Cumberland College (University of the Cumberlands) from 1993-1996. His first year duties included a balance of running back, quarterback and kick returner. The following three seasons he held the starting quarterback position. By career's end, Ahmad held the school records for completions (254 of 578 attempts), attempts (578), passing yards (currently second all-time with 3118 yards), and touchdowns (currently third all-time with 27). These records would stand for the next 15 years. Admittedly, his favorite record is the UC and NAIA Record, a 99 yard touchdown rush from scrimmage set against Mt Saint Joseph in 1994.
Following graduation, Ahmad moved to Canton, Georgia. He became the Quarterback Coach for the JR Warriors Middle School football team for two years. Broadnax also enjoys coaching his son in the recreational league, CYFA (Cherokee Youth Football Association), where he serves as Director of the Cherokee Division. During the 2015 season, Ahmad coached his team to their first championship. Broadnax coaches his son and daughter in recreation and travel basketball. His winning attitude in coaching has resulted in two team tournament championships.
Broadnax resides in Canton, Georgia with his wife, Amber, and their two children, Lincoln (11) and Carys (6). He loves his Savior Jesus Christ to whom he owes all his accomplishments and blessings.
