Janet Williams Anderson is the daughter of the late Paul and Pat Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a member of Senior Girls USSSA All-American Tournament Team and named USSSA Senior Girls Ohio State Championship MVP in 1985 while playing for Sweeney Chevrolet.
From 1986 to 1989, Janet played first base on the Cumberland College Softball Team. She was named All-KIAC Softball three years in a row (1987-1989) and All-KWIC two consecutive years (1988-1989). During her senior season, Janet had a career high .640 batting average and the Lady Indians recorded a 32-4 record, winning both the KIAC and KWIC tournaments.
Janet played for Empress Chili of Cincinnati, a women's major Class A team from, 1988 to 1996. Empress Chili won the 1988 USSSA World Series Championship and was the runner-up in 1989 and 1990. Janet was a member of the 1990 American USSSA team during its Soviet tour to Russia and named to the USSSA All-World Tournament team in 1989 and 1995. She ended her competitive softball career in 1999.
For the past 26 years, Janet has been a teacher at Colerain High School. She lives in Cincinnati with her husband, Todd, and they have three children, Julie, Paul, and Amy.
