Allison Smith Bonds of Sweetwater, Tennessee, is the daughter of Robert and Alice
Smith.  She played basketball for Coach Don Weiss at Sweetwater High School, where her jersey was retired.

Upon graduating from Sweetwater in 1982, Allison attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  She transferred to Roane State in 1984 to play for Coach Jim Davis.  At Roane State, Allison became good friends with teammates, Joni Skiles and Gay Locke.  Coach Henry Morgan recruited all three players to transfer and play at Cumberland.

In 56 games played at Cumberland, Allison had 634 rebounds and is 10th all-time in career rebounds.  With an 11.3 average, she remains the leading career rebounder by average.  During a game against Kennesaw in January 1986, Allison had 25 rebounds and is the co-leader for most rebounds in a single game.  Allison was a member of the 1985-86 team, which became the first in school history to win twenty games in a season, win a District 32 championship, and play in the NAIA National Tournament.  In 1987, Allison earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Allison has two daughters, Brianna and Jasmine, and is a store manager with Shoe Carnival in Knoxville, Tennessee.
