Moses Cochran III, the son of Moses Cochran Jr. and Terry Cochran, was born in Thomasville, Georgia. He is one of five children, Chekima Barnwell (US Army), Jessica Cochran, Errica Cochran, and Tevin Cochran. Moses attended Thomas County Central High School, where he played defensive back (2000-2002) and running back (2003-2004).
During his time at Cumberlands, Moses played as a running back and kick returner in 37 games. He had 497 carries for 2,890 yards (an average of 5.8 yards per carry), 27 receiving yards, and 19 touchdowns. Moses compiled 977 kick return yards, 185 punt return yards, and 4,386 all-purpose yards, averaging 118.5 all-purpose yards per game. He was named MSC East First Team, MSC All-Conference, and 2nd Team All-American in 2005 and Honorable Mention East Division All-Conference in 2007. He is 4th all-time for single season rushing yards with 1,415 yards, 5th all-time in career rushing yards with 2,890 yards, and 2nd all-time for all-purpose yards in a single season with 2,013 yards. With 19 rushing touchdowns, he is 8th all-time in school history.
For the past three years, Moses has been a Youth Minister at the Crossings Church of Christ in Wentzville, Missouri. He has also worked four years as an Adapted P.E. Coach and classroom supervisor/behavior assistant at the Center for Autism Education, modifying and developing exercise programs for 40+ special needs students.
In May 2017, Moses obtained a Certificate of Completion in IT Project Management at Saint Charles Community College. He recently joined the St. Louis Carpenters Union as an apprentice and is pursuing a Construction Management Associates Degree.
Moses resides in O’Fallon, Missouri with his wife Ashley. They have three children, Michaiah Denise Cochran, Havanna Marie Cochran, and the late Moses Micah Cochran.
